In addition to BPI, BCP, Agricultural Credit and Santander, Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD) confirms that it will start charging 88,4 cents for each transfer via MB WAY.
This fee will be effective from January 25 on January 2020. The public bank has set the 88,4 cents "fee" (already with Stamp Duty), according to the ECO newspaper, to apply to transfers made from MB WAY (unit cost) services.
However, Caixa Geral de Depósitos is not the most expensive given that BPI and BCP charge 1,248 € for each transfer made through the MB WAY app. Santander Totta charges 93,6 cents for such operations.
If transfers are made through the official CGD app, they are free!
As with other banks, transfers via the official app have no commissions. Through the Direct Mail and Easy Mail app the current exemptions are maintained.
The MB Way app is one of the most prominent services for making digital payments. While some banks have started charging for in-app transfers, others remain true to service principles and transfers remain free.
